Jewelry Store
Note:  

Applies to wholesale or retail stores.

Description

Code 8013 applies to stores principally engaged in selling precious or costume jewelry, such as
necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, watch parts, charms, lockets, pendants, brooches and similar
ornamental items intended for personal adornment whether made of metals or other materials. All
jewelry stores, whether wholesale or retail or a combination of both, are included under this
classification.

The repair or engraving of jewelry, when performed by a retail jewelry store for individual
customers, is also within the scope of this classification.

Assignment by Analogy

• Antique jewelry, coins, currency or stamps dealers
• Hearing aids and hearing aid batteries dealer – including repair
• Optical stores – including grinding of lenses to fit frames

Operations to be Separately Rated

 

  1. Licensed optometrist and audiologist. Refer to Code 8832 “Physician & Clerical.

  2. Optical goods- eye glasses or contract lenses manufacturing. Refer to Code 4150 “Optical Goods Mfg.-NOC”

  3. Repair of jewelry, clocks or watches for other concerns- Refer to Code 3383 “Jewelry Mfg.”
